Forget the four walls and pricey fees at your neighborhood gym. Instead, head over to the Beltline for dozens of free fitness classes offered along the popular trail.

Of course, you can always walk, run or bike along the Beltline, but various fitness classes can help you up your exercise game. Free events such as yoga, cardio and aerobics classes, meditation and fitness boot camps are held every week at various points along the Beltline.

We have compiled a list of free fitness events coming up in the next week. Visit the Beltline’s calendar for a full list of classes.

– The King of Pops sponsors a free yoga class every Tuesday – weather permitting – in the field next to the Old Fourth Ward Skate Park. Expect an hour of breathing, stretching and strengthening exercises. You might want to show up early for this one; it can get pretty crowded. Bringing a yoga mat and water is recommended.

Time: 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Location: Historic Fourth Ward Skatepark, 830 Willoughby Way

– Young at Heart Fitness leads aerobics classes for all ages and fitness levels.

Date: Aug. 16

Time: 6 – 7 p.m.

Location: Southwest Connector Spur Trail, 2257 Bollingbrook Drive

– A cardio class featuring Kango Jumps rebound shoes promises you will burn up to 20 calories a minutes. Shoes will be provided on a “first reserve, first serve” basis. All fitness levels can participate, and attendees should bring a mat.

Time: 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Location: Tanyard Creek Park, 460 Collier Road

– Young at Heart Fitness will lead another aerobics class held at the Historic Fourth Ward Amphitheater.

Date: Aug. 18

Time: 6 – 7 p.m.

Location: Historic Fourth Ward Park, 680 Dallas Street

– If you are trying yoga for the first time or getting back into yoga, this flow yoga class can get you started.

Date: Aug. 19

Time: 7 – 8 p.m.

Location: Rose Circle Park, Rose Circle/White Street SW

– A yoga class to help you relax, this vinyasa-flow inspired class is open to all fitness levels. Bring a yoga mat and water.

Date: Aug. 19

Time: 7 – 8 p.m.

Location: Old Fourth Ward Skatepark, 830 Willoughby Way

– Described as a fitness boot camp, this class uses equipment and natural landscapes for its 60-minute workout. The classes are for all fitness levels, but are only for ages 18 and up. They are led by FitWit.

Date: Aug. 20

Time: 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

Location: D.H. Stanton Park, 1052 Martin St.

– A licensed instructor teaches the practice of meditation at a mindful meditation session. The class is led by The Wellness Sancturary, Inc. in partnership with Mindfulness Center of Atlanta.

Date: Aug. 24

Time: 6 – 7 p.m.
